AI Process

AI is part of my process, not the driver of it. I use it to explore ideas, refine my thinking, and catch things I might have missed.

I’m still making the decisions—questioning the output, shaping the direction, and deciding what actually makes the work better.

I still start the way I always have—with an idea, a sketch, and time to think. I work through the problem, who I’m designing for, and what I’m trying to solve before bringing AI into the process. I brainstorm, ask questions, and explore ideas using tools like How Might We and Crazy Eights.

Once I have a direction, I bring in AI to help me push the thinking further, explore more possibilities, and move faster.

This is where I start exploring more possibilities. I use AI alongside research and brainstorming to look at different perspectives, find patterns, and question my first ideas.

It helps me explore more quickly, but I’m still deciding what feels relevant, what needs more work, and what’s worth moving forward.

This is where I start bringing ideas to life. I use Figma, AI-assisted prototyping, and code to quickly see how something might look, feel, and work.

Seeing ideas in context earlier helps me catch what’s working, rethink what isn’t, and refine the experience before going too far.

Once I have something in front of me, I can step back and see what’s working and what needs another pass.

I use AI to help catch things I may have missed, explore edge cases, and think through accessibility.

Then I test, refine, and make the call on what actually makes the experience better.

This is where I bring it all together. I refine the details, simplify where I can, and make sure the choices I’m making actually improve the experience.

AI can help me get there faster, but the final decisions come down to my eye, my experience, and what feels right for the product and the people using it.
